You can purchase another 8GB stick and install it in the two accessible bays, or you can take the palmrest off and remove the pre-installed sodimm - but that will void your warranty. If you have the 8GB version like me, Asus includes only one stick of 8GB under the keayboard in a non user serviceable area. I'd mod the case myself bu t I don't want to void my warranty.ģ. As it is, the cooling system recirculates the hot air over the heatsinks when temps go over 65-70C. Asus should have cut breathing holes directly under the two fans, so they can suck in fresh air from the bottom. My aging Precision M6700 with HD 7970m never went over 70C even when overclocked to 950mhz 1v. Video card goes up to 79-80C witch is high in my book. Bad design choice, since I and many others prefer to carry two batteries when traveling.Ģ. It's hidden under the metallic cover behind the LCD screen at the back of the laptop between the two exhaust ports. Battery is built in to the machine, but it's easy to remove.
